Since 1983, the non-profit Divorce Center has been helping divorcing individuals and families with easing the trauma of divorce by providing education, professional expertise and resources.
Comprised of a network of professionals from multiple disciplines serving the divorcing community — attorneys, mediators, psychotherapists, career counselors, and financial experts — we believe that individuals and families experiencing divorce need to be well-informed and supported throughout the process. We provide information and assistance before and after a divorce as well as during the process. Even for someone just thinking about divorce, we can be a valuable source of information and support.
Our public education programs focus on the legal, psychological, financial, tax and mediation aspects of separation and divorce. Our mission is to make divorce more civilized and less traumatic for everyone involved, especially the children.
We accomplish our mission by:
- Educating individuals and the community about divorce, its effects and the services available.
- Assisting professionals from various disciplines with improving service to their divorcing clients.
